A few weeks ago ,  I  received an email from Dear Creatures that I won the Forager Cape giveaway.

When I received the package before Thanksgiving, I knew that it would be perfect addition to my fall/winter wardrobe.  I recently did a photo shoot with my  friend photographer Michelle and the cape looked so adorable.

Fall Fashion 2011 trend- Chic Ponchos / Capes

Ponchos and Capes new chic look

Since the days of Betty Suarez graced our  prime time line-up, the ponchos has transform into more stylish outerwear. Designers are paying more attention to this season's trend.  From preppy All- American to glamorous capes,  it has provided us tons of options of this outerwear.


Ponchos might remind us of Native American and South American print dress but you could update it with modern day accessories.  A cape  or poncho can be new alternative than your classic fall time cardigan. 
The comfort of wearing a poncho or cape, you could layer it over your autumn outfit and take it off when you arrive to your office.  


As a proud owner of military cape, I am on the hunt for a vintage poncho.  I am hoping to find one on future vintage shopping trip or Etsy.

Dear Creatures and Fall events

Back to my DC love ♥....
After seeing Hannah Feather print dress , I knew that it would be perfect for my early fall events. My thrifty self found this amazing dress was on sale from an online merchant. 
 After a few minutes, I instantly purchase this  heart shaped garment.  This adorable dress is made from thick material. I could still wear it during my"California" autumn.  


My vintage/ Online shopping tip:
Please read all of the online reviews / measurements before purchasing any garment online.  Make sure that you are getting the accurate fit, so you could avoid the returns/exchange process. Sheer joy comes to you when your dress fits you like a glove.

This past weekend, my  favorite aunt was celebrating her 80th birthday.   I wore the DC dress for her celebration. I love you, Tía. Thank you for being my inspiration for my vintage fashion.

This fall season, the fashion designers  are using geometric color block against black and brown background.  These creative graphic stripes and angle prints will flatter your body by directing attention to your flattering features. For this  bold  statement,  you need to wear a geometric print top with solid color bottom.

Fall fashion 2011 trend -- Brightly Colored Pants

The  fall season coming up to us, soon. As  a huge fan of bright colored pants, this is the best opportunity  for me to wear  my teal pants. Yes, I  do miss wearing my vivid color jeans.


Fall usually brings the change of darker / boring hues like greys and blacks.  This season , you could wear your brightly colored pants/jeans and  create a bold statement to your fall wardrobe. All of these  pants comes in different cuts  like straight leg , skinny and high waisted.  Just make sure  that the pair of pants flatter your body frame. 


Have fun with this season trend. Don't let  Sarah Jessica Parker have all of the fun with her amazing pink slacks  that she worn at her recent David Letterman interview.

Fall fashion 2011 trend --leather skirts

Leather... It seems like every designer came out with  leather piece in their  fall 2011 collection.
I am usually not advocate to wear  leather but these featured skirts  are amazing. I highly encourage my  readers  to buy/ wear the  vintage  leather piece from Ebay  and  Etsy. It  decreases the leather usage and   you could still look hot without breaking the bank:)
The vintage skirt reflect the timeless style that can be found  in current fashion.

Style icon Alexa Chung  is sporting  a leather skirt and  chunky sweater.
If you just mix up your vintage skirt with stylish top, you can transform your outfit into unique gem
