Absence with a good reason.....

If you don't know by now, I have been away from my blog  for about  9 months.

Yes, I'm pregnant with my first baby.
This miracle baby came to my life when I lost  any hope  in becoming a mom. 

This new chapter in my life brings big changes in my life, blogging, and Etsy store. I promised myself that this blog will incorporate my personal lifestyle  with vintage twist.You will see me learning how to cook for a family or decorating a baby mini nursery on a tight budget during this journey. 

 I  have been blessed with great friends that provided me with  tons of baby advice.My oldest friend (25 years and counting)  is a OB/ GYN nurse guiding me during this pregnancy. I will be sharing some of my baby tips and maternity tips.

 When I ordered this beautiful dress from Emerging thoughts ,  I wanted to wear this dress. Mission accomplished. I wore the same Dear creatures Mia dress during  my first and second trimester.

Style tip for any current or future pregnant ladies: Have fun during your first and second trimester and be creative with  your baby bump. I was lucky to wear my stretchy clothes from my wardrobe. I save tons of money  and waited to wear maternity dresses after my 30 weeks mark.

Ship ahoy!

Ready for some vacation time

It has been busy at work due a trade show preparation. Due to the lack of sleep, I have been wanting to sleep in. I'm trying to save extra money for a mini getaway vacation.My hubby and I might head up to San Francisco or Big Sur. I can't wait  sleep in  and enjoy brunch time by the beach.

Dear Creatures Spring 2012 preview

One of my girl friends emailed the Dear Creatures S/S 2012 lookbook. You gotta love  friends who know you best especially on this  crazy Friday:) 


At last weekend's sample sale, I saw the  sample of last pictured dress. The lucky girl ( who I didn't get her name) was having double thoughts when she was trying on the dress. I helped  her  out with adjusting the dress straps. She looked so  beautiful. I'm so happy that she got the dress. Another DC fan was born on  that day:)
I think that I am going to save up for the Garden dress. It's too cute. My heart is all over the khaki version.

Winter White

White is  a great transition color  to the upcoming pastel spring time.  
A few weeks ago, I found this amazing off white wool coat. I usually have second thoughts over light colors but I fell in love with  it.

This  past weekend, I went to the Dear  Creatures  sample sale at   TLO  ( The Loved One) with my  part time assistant.  Poor guy, he saw  how  women act crazy around  cheap clothes.  
Regardless,  I got two amazing pieces for work.  Honestly I'm started to enjoy dressing for work, every morning.  Like my co-worker mention, I  should bring a " bit of Maria " in my outfit..  aka "  bit of color"  :)  How is your workplace? Do you get  wear causal clothes or business suits?   I would love to hear about your work outfits:)

Christmas day outfit

This Christmas, I layered up with my favorite  summer dress from Dear creatures.  Even with the California weather, it  does get a bit chilly during the night time. 


What did you get for Christmas?
My husband and I promised each other to spend a day at Disney's California Adventure. I am a huge Disneyland fan. It's the perfect gift.:) I will take plenty of pictures and  post them after the trip.  Hopefully,  I find  my sparkly Mickey ears before the trip.

Forager Cape from Dear Creatures

A few weeks ago ,  I  received an email from Dear Creatures that I won the Forager Cape giveaway.

When I received the package before Thanksgiving, I knew that it would be perfect addition to my fall/winter wardrobe.  I recently did a photo shoot with my  friend photographer Michelle and the cape looked so adorable.

A rare occurrence in the Southern California skies, there was the rain. This past weekend, it was little showers happened throughout the day and night time.  Perfect chance to bring out  my raincoat and  umbrella. I realized that  I have no rainboots. :(

After searching online stores, I found these some adorable  rainboots on Modcloth. I might save my pennies from my future yard sales and buy these beauties.

After seeing Hannah Feather print dress , I knew that it would be perfect for my early fall events. My thrifty self found this amazing dress was on sale from an online merchant. 
 After a few minutes, I instantly purchase this  heart shaped garment.  This adorable dress is made from thick material. I could still wear it during my"California" autumn.
